Does anyone remember the opening lines of the 70’s TV hit the $6 Million Man? “Steve Austin. Astronaut. A man, barely alive. We can rebuild him. We have the technology. We can make him better than he was. Better, stronger, faster.”
Out of the ashes, hope can be rebuilt. It has been a shocking week. It was fun watching Tiger Woods finish his comeback with a big win at the Masters. No matter how far we fall, there is always a path back to greatness. Then Notre Dame burns, but it can be rebuilt as well, and many of its treasures were saved.
Humans have an unbelievable capacity for comebacks. So many stories over my career, watching gritty people overcome unimaginable tragedies and obstacles. There is always a way back. But you have to believe that is true and get out there and find the way back.
This weekend the Christian world is celebrating Easter, arguably the greatest comeback story ever. Whatever your struggles and challenges are today, look for the way out. It was Friday…but Sunday is coming.
