“The process of setting a goal on the outer boundaries of what we think is possible, and then systematically pursuing it is one of the most fulfilling parts of being human.” Peak Performance, Stulberg and Magness
I am thoroughly enjoying this book. The authors share their wisdom about growth that comes from periods of extreme effort, followed by rest and recovery. Professional athletes have been practicing this rhythm for decades. But it also works for Business Owners and Entrepreneurs. Without personal rest and recovery, you can wreck your business with burnout, a health crisis, or a messy divorce even faster than with a mediocre business plan.
Sustainable (and enjoyable) business performance is one part disciplined execution: planning, delegation, accountability. Combine that with the wisdom to know the difference between $10/hr and $250/hr tasks, and spend your prime focus on the latter. If you are trading rest, recovery, and replenishment for dozens of hours of $10/hr tasks, you are a long way from the Xtra Mile.
Our passion at XM (Xtra Mile) Performance is twofold; unlocking human potential and driving organizational performance. The two working together can dramatically transform your business’ performance. Do you have big goals on the outer boundary of what you think is possible for the 2nd half of 2017? We would love to help you get there.
